Programme Outcomes
In this learning programme, we will be covering the following learning outcomes:
- Plan and implement strategies to recruit volunteers for sports organisations and tournaments.
- Select and appoint volunteers to suitable positions.
- Induct and train volunteers in a sport or fitness environment.
- Manage volunteers in a sports environment.
- Maximise volunteer retention.
- Describe the basic concept of classification and how functional and medical classification operate.
- Define the core components needed for a basic database for use in disability sport.
- Understand the specific needs of the disabled in relation to the logistics of a simple event.
- Demonstrate the values, attitudes and sensitivity issues necessary for dealing with people with disabilities and understand and promote the concept of inclusion in sport.
- Describe the structures catering for sport for the disabled in South Africa and internationally. The qualifying learner will be positioned to extend their learning and practice into other areas of managing participants with disabilities in sport.
Business Communication is goal oriented. The rules, regulations and policies of a company have to be communicated to people within and outside the organization. Business Communication is regulated by certain rules and norms. In early times, business communication was limited to paper-work, telephone calls etc. But now with advent of technology, we have cell phones, video conferencing, emails, satellite communication to support business communication. Effective business communication helps in building goodwill of an organization.
Business Communication can be of two types:
- Oral Communication - An oral communication can be formal or informal. Generally business communication is a formal means of communication, like : meetings, interviews, group discussion, speeches etc. An example of Informal business communication would be - Grapevine.
- Written Communication - Written means of business communication includes - agenda, reports, manuals etc.
